book 1

R. H. Bearden Elementary School Quest Gifted Enrichment Program was granted permission by school board president, Mr. Marvin George and fellow board members, Mrs. Cora Hooper, Ms. Lucinda Berryhill and Mrs. Sharon Bailey to publish a book  to honor Representative Tracey Rosebud. The book is entitled “ Our Trip to The State Capitol of Mississippi,”  was published by Studentreasures Publishing Company. The book is a gesture of appreciation and does not gain profit for the West Tallahatchie School District.

Representative Rosebud could not believe that the students had actually taken their time to write and draw pictures about an experience with him. He was amazed! He said that he had never seen his name written so many times. The students expressed their individual feelings about Representative Rosebud’s time with them at the Mississippi State Capitol and Mama Hamil’s Restaurant.  The students really touched his heart.

Representative Rosebud has vowed to assist in making a difference in the lives of the students. He still talks about how the people at the Capitol as well as Mama Hamil’s Restaurant still speak on the students’ visit and behavior. He has expressed the importance of experiencing and learning about different places and things.

The gifted program appreciates the support that Representative Rosebud has given the program. He is already working on strategies to ensure that the students gain more educational exposure in the upcoming school term.

Parents of the gifted students are  excited about exposing and growing our children intellectually and academically. The parents are very supportive of the gifted program. The Gifted Program’s teacher,  Ms. Eurica Pointer, appreciates all support that has been given to the program. She is looking forward to another adventurous year of  expanding the students’ minds with creative and memorable experiences.
