R. H. Bearden Elementary School held a book-walk around the courthouse square in Sumner. While walking, students from K-3rd grade classes, along with their teachers, read the book "The Hallowiener" by Dav Pikey together. The book was enlarged poster-sized and arranged around the square in stations where students received gifts of candy.
Students also toured the Sumner court room and was lectured on some of the past historical events that took place inside the court room area.
The goal of the event was to support students' reading skills and foster their love of reading while getting into a fall spirit. R.H. Bearden's Book Walk
